Description
This picture illustrates how businesses did, and still do depend on local events to bring attantion and income to the square. Events like the Memorial Day parade are just a few of the annual festivites that attract many who live out of the city to come to Medina. The building at 2 Public Square has no doubt benefitted from this being on the corner.

Even in 1907 the square was crowded with people for the Memorial Day celebration. Even today the Medina Square stays active in the arts festival in the summer, the fall festival, the Candle Night Walk in November, the Ice Sculpture festival in February, and the Memorial Day Parade in May. With all these events it is of no surprise that businesses on the square have been doing business with this community for decades and will continue to do business with the community as long as the square stays active, because all of these events bring in people, who shop at stores like Whitey's or any other store on the square.
